Black Gate Distillery Single Cask Batch #BG005 Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

This is the third release from Black Gate, which this time includes a peated component. Matured in Sherry barrels.

Tasting note: [tasted from a 15ml sample] Brassy gold. Densely packed bouquet is fruit cake-like, bordering on marmalade. Aeration finds hints of milk chocolate and introduces a dried fruit aspect - apricot? prunes? Rich and creamy with ample malt carried by dustings of cocoa and super fine tannins. Finish features a surge of fruit'n'nut chocolate. Dried fruits again suggested in the fade. Impressive length and balance. Quite beguiling and unique. Terrific stuff.
