He died in battle against overwhelming Spanish forces, swinging his claymore and clutching a silver casket containing the heart of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland. Aged and blended in Scotland, Black Douglas has won over many a dedicated Scotch drinker, with its simple, robust, full bodied character - not to mention its price.
