2005 Benromach Hermitage Wood Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A double wooded Benromach distilled in 2005 and matured initially in first-fill bourbon casks for six years. Following that, it was finished in wine casks from Hermitage (Northern Rhone Syrah) for 27 months.

Tasting note: Bright copper with a ruby red blush. Opens with sweet scents of caramel and honeycomb followed by hints of dark chocolate, Turkish Delight and pepper over a malty backdrop. Light creamy entry. Appealing, fresh, peppery, vanilla malt mid palate is rounded off with a sweet, peaty flourish. Finishes gently tannic and with extra depth including subtle dried berry and cocoa notes in a late peaty surge. Great mouthfeel. 45% Alc./Vol.
