Benromach Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Benromach reopened in 1998 and is now owned by Gordon and MacPhail. This cask strength release was distilled in 2003 and bottled June, 2013. Matured in first fill Bourbon casks, unchillfiltered and with no colouring added.

Tasting note: Very pale straw gold appearance. Sweet smoky vanilla oak combines with dense sugar laced malt. Decpetively light entry suddenly implodes on the tongue with an intensely spicy attack. Sweet malt at mid palate, then the spices surge again. Finish turns medium dry. Tingly spirit. Slightly creamy texture. Well balanced overall. Some attractive sugared cereal notes emerge into the aftertaste, while the spices never give up. 60.3% Alc./Vol.
