Adelphi Fascadale Batch 4 Clynelish 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Fascadale lies on the north-west point of the rugged, and timeless, Ardnamurchan Peninsula, just a few miles from the location for Adelphi’s new distillery – The Ardnamurchan Distillery – which should be built by the end of 2013.

Tasting note: Fascadale Batch No. 4 is a special marrying of 5 American oak casks from the North Highland distillery of Clynelish. Only 1396 bottles were produced in this release. It presents a very pale straw gold colour. The aroma opens with baked cake and dried grass-like notes and is initially quite subdued. It accentuates after exposure, most noticeably into a fruity apple and pear dimension in combination with dilute honey and a judicious underscore of peat. The palate entry is soft and understated - vanilla and honey at first are followed by a medium to full bodied, delicately balanced and mildly fruity mid palate with a juicy, nashi pear crescendo. Finishes with lively spices and a subtle cocoa, peat aftertaste and good persistence. 46% Alc./Vol.
