Rattray's "Cask Collection" series, whether from a barrel, a hogshead or a butt, represent single cask whiskies made available in extremely limited quantities, often no more than a couple of hundred bottles for each cask. Glen Grants are known for their ability to age well beyond 50 years. After two decades in barrel, this will be starting to bloom. Distilled in 1995 and matured in a Bourbon hogshead, it's non-chill filtered and straight from the cask with a total outturn of just 217 bottles. The price is hard to resist...

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: raspberry jelly, sour cherries, red berries and rose blossom. Palate: soft and mild with honey dipped pears. Finish: dry with oak, cashew nuts and a light grassy finish. 53.2 % Alc./Vol.
