Cabernet Franc fruit is all hand-picked into small baskets, double sorted and then destemmed but not crushed and fermented in small open vats. Gentle maceration over 3-4 weeks, followed by maturation in old oak foudres and sandstone amphorae for 7-12 months.
Dense inky black core with a deep youthful dark purple hue. Freshly crushed red currant and raspberry scents meld into inky earth, fresh herb and spice notes. Rich juicy red currant and red raspberry fruits are framed by a firm tannin structure and bright acidity that together impart a grippy feel. Notions of red liquorice, inky earth and spicy dried herbs lie underneath. Concludes fresh, robust and exuberantly fruited.
