2022 Trenel Coteaux Bourguignons

The Coteaux Bourguignons A.O.C. was created in 2011 and borders on the entire Burgundy region, from Chablis to the gates of Lyon. Red, white and rosé wines and can be either made of a blend or a single grape variety. Trénel’s Coteaux Bourguignons is produced from Gamay with vines aged between 40-60 years located near Villefranche and le Bois d'Oingt on the characteristic limestone soils of South Beaujolais.
Deep dark red purple core with black toned edges and a bright purple red hue. Escaping from the glass are fragrant violet, red to dark cherry and clove scents with some earthy incense and spice notes also evident. The delicious, deeply fruited palate features an abundance of dark cherry, raspberry and red liquorice flavours over an earthy incense, clove and spice back drop. Juicy mouth feel with polished yet underlyingly sturdy tannins. Both spicy and smoky it concludes long and succulent. A great value, easy drinking red.
