2022 Clos de Gamot Cahors

A rich, juicy Malbec with a firm, muscular tannin structure imparting a grippy feel across the rustic yet fresh finish.

Aged for 18-12 months in old oak. This Malbec displays an impenetrable inky black heart along with a very deep dark red black hue. Enticing red to black currant, blueberry and liquorice aromas are trailed by some dried herb, tobacco and spicy earth notes. Juicy blackcurrant and liquorice fruits decorate the mid weighted palate with an earthy underbelly of vanillin cedar, subtle blueberry, dried herbs and spice. Firm, muscular tannin structure imparts a grippy feel across the rustic yet fresh finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Fancier malbec, in a more traditional way.
Firm tannin frames a deeply juicy, dark berries, choc-cherried, spicy/herbal, dusty, truffley wine. Serious structure for the variety, a very big palate reset in blood orange acidity and that gravelly chew of tannin – very good drinking, ideal for the stickier, richer dishes on the table. Complexity writ large here too. Fresh though. Drink 2026-2032.
