2019 Domaine des Escaravailles Les Sablieres Cotes du Rhone

Domaine des Escaravailles has been owned by the Férran family since the 1950’s. It consists of 65 hectares of vineyards, 40 of which are on the rocky, clay-limestone hillsides of Rasteau. Les Sablieres is a Grenache Syrah blend sourced from vines between 30-50 years old.
Deep dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Dark cherry, plum and liquorice aromas intermingle with dried herbs and spicy earth. Rich dark cherry, dark raspberry and liquorice fruits show good flesh with notions of scorched earth, provincial herbs and pepper lying underneath. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins bring some structure to the juicy finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
