Domaine Hudelot-Noellat produce some of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir in the Cotes de Nuits. This iconic producer has 10 hectares of vineyards located in prime spots within the some of the best appellations of Burgundy, including the Grand Crus of Clos de Vougeot, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Richebourg. Charles Van Canneyt, grandson of Alain Hudelot, has run the domaine since 2008, and the wines under his care are refined and expressive. Charles is growing the vineyard organically most vintages, however, if the weather is challenging and the crop at high risk of disease, he is willing to treat them accordingly.

Other Reviews....
This is almost as spicy as the Vosne with its range of anise, sandalwood, earth and tea-like nuances adding breadth to the violet-tinged dark berry fruit aromas. The sleek, intense and delineated medium-bodied flavors possess even better depth and persistence on the relatively powerful finish. This is a very good Nuits villages and recommended.

Allen Meadows - Burghound

The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe reveals a perfumed bouquet of raspberries, rose petals, orange rind and potpourri, complemented by rich soil tones and a deft framing of oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with an open-knit core of ripe but succulent fruit. This is an especially elegant Nuits, concluding a lovely triumvirate of communal bottlings chez Hudelot-Noellat this year.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2020)

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe Village has a pretty dark cherry, briar and undergrowth bouquet, well-defined and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied and quite saline with good acidity. A discreet meatiness comes through toward the finish and a dash of five-spice appears on the aftertaste. This is a fascinating Nuits Saint-George.
