2016 North Star Glasgow Distillery 5 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - Limited Edition Packaging

Here's another first: The Glasgow Distillery Company adopts its name from one of Glasgow’s original distilleries, founded at Dundashill in 1770. It remained active until it was closed at the beginning of the 20th Century. In 2014, 'The Glasgow Distillery Company' re-opened becoming the first Single Malt distillery in Glasgow for over 100 years. Founders Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall, hope that the establishment heralds the start of a whole new age of distilling in the region. The new-make here is described as light and fruity, however the aim is to hone in on a distinctively 'Glaswegian' style. Besides that, the team are already distilling both peated and unpeated malt and experimenting with multiple cask types. North Star were lucky to secure a single refill barrel of 2016 distillate, finished in an Oloroso hogshead for twelve months. Expect aromas and flavours of cinnamon, black pepper and coconut snowball with toasted nuts. 51.5% Alc./Vol. 358 bottles
