2012 Lady of the Glen Teaninich Single Cask #702608 9 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Tasting note: A Diageo workhorse, Teaninich produces a medium bodied distillate with floral, fruit and spice notes. Matured for just under eight years in a refill hogshead before being finished in a Giraud Rivesalts sweet wine barrique, the result is rich and malty on the nose with air contact releasing dark chocolate, prunes and dates. Teaninich's typically pronounced orchard fruitiness is absent. In line with the aromas, the palate is plush and rounded with a winey sweetness overlaying the fruity malt. Cream tea biscuits and a touch of beeswax are followed by ginger and dried fruits, in particular apricots. There's late hints of mocha. Very good, but hard to tell it's Teaninich. 56.7% Non chill filtered. 306 bottles.
