Brothers Hervé and Claude Muzard took over the running of this domaine from their father in 1995 and immediately decided to bottle wine under their own label rather than shipping everything to the négoc. They have also greatly reduced yields in the vineyards to intensify flavour and in the cellar have eliminated fining and only filter when strictly necessary. The fruit for this Bourgogne is sourced from a single vineyard in Santenay (just below the ‘Champs Claude’ village vineyard) with vines that are over 60 years old.

‘A Great Example of entry level Burgundy’

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with black tinged edges and dark crimson red hue. The nose provides a mix of dark and sour cherry top notes followed by some clove, meatiness and spicy cedar showing good fragrant lift. Light savoury flavours of ripe dark cherries and a touch of clove are followed by some sour cherry, meatiness and spice. Dryish finish with very fine grained well integrated tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, meatiness, some sour cherry and spicy earth.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2014-2019).
Alc 12.5%
