Contrary to popular belief, Listrac is indeed a source of ultra-premium wines. In great years this underdog appellation is a superb source for classic Claret. Fourcas Dupre is renowned for precisely that, as the Terroir there promotes finesse over sheer power and intensity, and the resulting wines can be a welcome relief in cellars filled with exuberant bombshells. This may be the best 30 bucks you can spend on traditionally styled Bordeaux in the Australian market today.

Totally opaque black dark purple colour with dark purple red hue. The nose exhibits ripe blackcurrant top notes followed by some black cherries and a whiff of liquorice with underlying cedary earth like characters and spice end notes. Medium weight with plenty of richness and an elegant, yet firm solid structure, the palate features a flavour profile of blackcurrants, cedar, earthy tobacco and spice. Dry finish with firm assertive but balanced tannins. Medium to long blackcurrant, cedar, light earth and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years (2020-2022).
Alc 13.0%

Impressive concentration for this estate with currant and fresh tobacco character, minerals and light toasted oak. Full and chewy. Best ever from here?"
