Typically moderately peated, Ardmore showcases a very traditional Highland style, being more wood smoke than maritime. Like Caol Ila, for example, some of the most exciting expressions are relatively young. This nine year old promises an extra layer of smoke having been drawn from two bourbon barrels that previously contained Islay whisky.
