2009 Glenallachie Single Cask #4806 Grattamacco Red Wine Cask 11 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

For this expression, Billy Walker partnered with the iconic Grattamacco winery in Tuscany, Italy to source a certified organic French Oak cask with a medium toast. Secondary maturation in the Super Tuscan Barrique allowed the whisky to pick up a sunset orange colour as well as nutty, stone fruit tones. The smaller size of the barrique, compared to a butt or puncheon, gives greater wood and spirit interaction, enhancing the intensity of the ultimate flavour experience. 275 bottles. 64.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... NOSE: Layers of apricots and peaches, fused with honey, almonds and orange zest. TASTE: Waves of toffee, heather honey, peaches, and red berries, followed by orange zest and ginger.
