2008 Cooper's Choice Caol Ila 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Initially matured in x Bourbon casks, this single cask / cask strength Caol Ila was finished with a spell in x-Amarone wine casks - an Italian red wine made from partially dried grapes - mainly Corvina - from the Valpolicella region in Veneto. The dehydration concentrates the fruit flavours. The wine also give this whisky a deeper than usual colour with a subtle reddish blush. Expect a 'Summer pudding' style with whiffs of the coast and a good dose of Islay peat. 54.5% Alc./Vol. 324 bottles produced. Non chill filtered.
