2007 Lady of the Glen An Orkney Single Cask #6 14 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Tasting note: This Northern Isles distillate, famous for its light citrus / heather honey and gently peated style is here complimented by a twelve month oloroso sherry finish. Low-peat from the outset, it presents with a fresh citrus lift to the peppery and delicately honeyed malt. After 4-5 minutes, the aroma settles in with digestif biscuits and light orchard fruitiness; barely a trace of smoke. Mouthcoating and oily on delivery with a citrusy edge, the finish is tactile and lively ending with a subtle coastal peat character. The aftertaste is delicately fruity, long and warming. 58.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 348 bottles.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose - light leather and charred oak initially followed by a smoked oranges and heather character. With time, exotic spice, dried fruits ands and creme brûlée notes emerge. Palate - honey on toast, vanilla and bitter dark chocolate immediately flood the taste buds, but mellows to reveal a spicier character of nutmeg, cinnamon and smoked vanilla cream. Finish - long and with a bitter sweet balance of strong coffee and glazed cherries. This mellows with developing aromatic peat and high quality coco powder.
