2006 Adelphi Breath of Speyside 10 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - 57.7% bottling

Distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2017, the provenance of this 10 year old is not disclosed. The tasting note suggests Glendronach? Glenfarclas? Or possibly even Macallan?? A great malt for a guessing game at your next group tasting.

Notes from the bottler... Drawn from an active, 1st fill Spanish oak ex-Sherry butt. A deep amber/polished mahogany colour, with good beading. Mellow nosefeel, not as dry as its predecessor. Bruised apple, tinned pear, burnt caramel – toffee apple? Oloroso sherry, sweet tobacco, so leather. Develops into vanilla toffee (Werther’s Originals; Chocolate Eclairs) with a drop of water. A sweet, burnt toffee taste, then immediately bitter saccharine. Water introduces chocolate and cocoa powder, reduces the other tastes and gives a lightly mentholic afterertaste. 57.7% Alc./Vol. 508 bottles.
