2005 Fonseca Late Bottled Vintage Port

Late bottled Vintage Port is bottled later than a Vintage Port and since it spends a longer time in wood is ready to drink earlier. The Fonseca Unfiltered LBV is aged in oak vats, where it gradually matures. It is then drawn off into bottle with no fining or filtration.

Totally opaque saturated black crimson red colour with very deep crimson red black hue. Liquorice, ripe blackberry and morello cherry scents dominate the nose with some well integrated brandy spirit present finishing with some spice end notes. Luscious ripe blackberry, liquorice and morello cherry flavours greet the front palate with some fine brandy spirit, raisins and spice in the background. Dryish, slightly chewy finish. Excellent length with long liquorice, ripe morello cherry, raisin, brandy spirit and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-8 years (2013-2021)
