Unpeated. Distilled on the north of the island. Cask Strength. 100% first fill Oloroso and it's black as tea...
Not hard to deduce this is one very desirable Bunnahabhain.
"Medjool dates, maple syrup and ginger."
No other tasting notes, except from a reputable UK whisky retailer - and a customer review that goes with it: "Strong coffee, mixed with notes of molasses and date. A good core of barley keeps it from becoming unrecognisable as whisky..." "My opinion is based on taste, and this is the goods..." If you need further comfirmation that this is a seriously active Oloroso cask, you get it from the bottler, Greg Hannah:
"Very fortunate to obtain this beautiful single butt from a private collector but due to the gravity of the butt the name had to remain secret" He adds, "The light quality of the spirit produced from this distillery’s large stills have allowed for a delightfully balanced sherry influence. We were so impressed by the wood’s condition after the Secret Islay maturation that we have opted to use the Butt again, as it has so much left to give, for the further maturation of a Caol ila." 565 bottles were produced for the Lady of the Glen range. Bottled for Gregor Hannah, Managing Director of Hannah Whisky Merchants, Edinburgh. One sneaky shipment and one chance only at what's obviously a hedonistic malt.
