2003 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chenes Carteaux

Excellent colour and depth for a Pinot of this age displaying a very dark red black core with a dark red hue. Nosing reveals ripe dark fruit aromas intermixed with some leather, gaminess, earth and spice showing signs of tertiary development. Medium weight the palate features ripe black cherry flavours on the front palate which quickly dry out towards the finish leaving nuances of leather, earth and spice that are overtaken by dry chewy tannins. Aftertaste of black cherries, leather, earth and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
