Sort of a mystery bottling, until you decode the anagram "Lynch Isle" which spells the name of a famous North Highland distillery. Distilled August 2000 and matured for twenty years, initially in a sherry butt followed by time in a butt that previously held Portuguese brandy. Definitely one of the more unexpected maturation regimes for this (or any) distillery! Next to nothing available. 693 bottles filled at 53.3% Vol.
Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Super posh cloudy apple juice and grilled grapefruit. Palate: A fist full of almonds – creamy coffee and dark chocolate. Finish: Cinnamon spice and waxy caramelised nuts.
