1978 Glenglassaugh Single Cask #1803 Sherry Hogshead Finish 35 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Glenglassaugh’s first batch of single casks includes eight fantastic single malts ranging from 28 to 45 years old. All are crisp, fresh, sweet Highland malts that hit the palate with the power of complex fruit bombs – from apples, bananas, pineapples, grapefruit, prunes and plums to lime, cantaloupe melon and caramelised orange. Extremely limited.

This expression was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2014. 351 bottles available world wide.

Other reviews... a light brushing of kumquot but vanilla dominates. Slightly milky nougat. Elegant, clean and some delightful hints of moist fruit cake; it's age beats its chest on entry with a distinctively oaky yodel. But the marzipan and ulmo honey mix really does make you purr. ...so, so gentle. A vague hint of something fruity. A gentle statement of spice, more deft vanilla and again a fruitiness which slips through your grasp. Truly exceptional. 41.6% Alc./Vol.
