This is the 10th annual release in the Master's Collection, limited to 30,000 bottles worldwide. Master Distiller, Chris Morris, says the 1838 Style White Corn pays homage to Oscar Pepper and James Crow, who were producing whiskies over 150 years ago on the same location as Woodfords. The pair used the more readily available white corn in their mashbill. Essentially, this is the same as traditional Woodford Reserve, only the sweeter white corn replaces the commonly used yellow maize.

Other reviews... Fresh-shucked sweet corn on the nose, a wisp of hot clove spice, some fresh grassiness; a clean aroma. True on the palate, with a bit of fresh cob as well, and firm oak. Lean and a bit leathery in the Woodford style, but lighter in the mouth; is the lightness from the white corn? I like this; I tend to give Woodford a bit more latitude in these essays. 87 points
