Wild Turkey 12 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey (700ml)

With age statements disappearing from the many iconic whisk(e)y brands since 2012-2013, chiefly Scottish, Japanese and American,  both packaging and styles are progressively changing to meet economic demand, yet, we feel those fortunate enough to have experienced the "regular" line-up of brands such as Wild Turkey 10+ years ago may have had the better end of the stick, not realising just how good they had it!  This circa 2000, 12 year old bottling is flavoursome  old school Turkey, unlike anything you've experienced from their current bottlings. Bottled at 101 Proof (50.5% ABV).

Tasting note: Nose: peaches and cream , topped with demerara sugar, beautiful nutty fruit cake; Taste: pretty sweet on the uptake with that sugary quality bursting forward and estery like an old Jamaican Rum; Finish: liquorice and corn interweave beautifully. This is great whiskey, perhaps not the most complex from this stable, but the effect is uplifting. 90 points. - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2008
