Vinhos Barbeito 5.Y.O Verdelho Medium Dry Madeira

This is a superb example of Madeira and being ‘Rainwater’ it is Medium Dry. Brilliant translucent caramel colour, with a delicate green edge. The nose is very distinctive, with strong aroma of roast almonds and caramel. Mouthfilling palate, with a superb range of unusual flavours. The sensation is dry with flavours of smoky mixed nuts, raisins, dusty toasted oak, old leather and orange peel. Outstanding length and complexity. Perfect balance followed by very long aftertaste of raisins, roast nuts and caramel. An excellent taste experience. Some say this is the wine to have with a soup – French onion would be perfect.
