- ABV 40%
In 2006 Diageo launched 'The Singleton of Glen Ord' for selected Asian markets. It's reportedly matured in a combination of 50% Bourbon casks and 50% Sherry casks and is very similar to the original Glen Ord, which we're as yet to taste.
Tasting note: Deep brassy copper colour. Moderate aromas of toasted cereals have a faint suggestion of peat, mingling with notes of vanilla and cocoa. Entry is soft and light. Mid palate is medium bodied. Barley and vanilla flavours are accompanied by a gentle peppery surge, followed by a touch of cocoa. Dryish tannins. Subtle aftertaste of honey and vanilla. Pleasant enough for those who don't demand much from their whisky. 40% Alc./Vol.
