The Dalmore 40 years old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Highlands, SCOTLAND
$4999. 00
Bottle
$59988.00 Dozen
ABV: 40%

An extremely rare offering from The Dalmore, this whisky is the creation of master blender Richard Patterson. Distilled in 1966 and matured in sherry barrels for forty years before bottling at 40%, allegedly without dilution. Patterson claims that so much of the whisky was lost during the forty year maturation, it's just coincidence that the final alcohol volume was 40%. A whisky that has the critics divided. Jim Murray (82 points) can't see the appeal, while John Hansell (Malt Advocate, 93 points) is in raptures, a sentiment echoed by the normally frugle Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago (www.tastings.com , 98 points). Regardless, this whisky offers an exceptionally rare opportunity to taste a slice of history, and will offer endless appeal to collectors.
