A stand out Arran from our recent tastings.
The palate length really is exceptional.

A significant step up from the NAS 'Lochranza', for many, the 14 year old remains the big value in the portfolio, showcasing Arran's naked spirit. FIrst fill Sherry and Bourbon casks up the richness. The obvious quality on offer here was vindicated by a Double Gold Award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Tasting note: Sensuous, cream like aromatics gradually tease out hints of salted roast nuts and honeyed malt, though the intensity takes some encouraging to build. A soft, wonderfully clean delivery features Arran’s trademark pristine malt coupled with purring spices unfolding across the palate with terrific length. Perfect balance. Finishes creamy, shortbread-like along with hints of vanilla and cocoa and possesses solid staying power. A stand out Arran from our recent tastings. The palate length really is exceptional. Non chill filtered. 46% Alc./Vol.

...A superb whisky, but the evidence that there has been a subtle shift in emphasis, with the oak now taking too keen an interest, is easily attained.
89.5 points - Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2018

This expression from the Isle of Arran distillery appeared in 2010 and one-third of the component whiskies were matured in European oak casks while two-thirds came from American oak. Very fragrant and perfumed on the nose, with peaches, brandy, and ginger snaps, plus vanilla and mild oak. Smooth and creamy on the palate, with spicy summer fruits, apricots, and hazelnuts. The lingering finish is spicy, biscuity, and slowly drying, with just a hint of salt.
