Scarce as hen's teeth is the second release (Batch 2) Overeem from UK indie bottler, "That Boutique-y Whisky Co.", which had a miserly outturn of just 75 bottles! We have one only to sell.
Once again, this sports a colourful label referencing an industry in-joke. Other reviews... a sliver of grapefruit in the barley; juicy delivery, as light as your first love's kiss and falls into full malt mode....for those who think Oz whiskies tend to be full on, bruising buggers, cop a load of this. 89.5 points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017 Notes from the bottler... If you're taking a trip to Tasmania anytime soon, remember that the garages attached to people’s houses might not be quite as mundane as they may seem. While your garage might just be full of broken lawnmowers and old video game consoles, Casey Overeem’s garage contains the Old Hobart whisky distillery. Pretty sizeable difference, we think you’ll agree. On the label, you can see Casey and Overeem Brand Ambassador Jane putting together some more fantastic Tasmanian whisky. Nose: Coconut, nougat, treacle, a herbal tea and thyme honey with fruity hints. Palate: Honeycomb and cinnamon with a hint of five spice and more fruit. Finish: Chocolate-covered honeycomb chunks, like what you'd find in an old fashioned sweet shop. 52.9% Alc./Vol.
