Tap 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whisky (750ml)

CANADA
$79. 99
Bottle
$959.88 Dozen
ABV: 40.5%

Crafted from 3, 5 and 7-year old rye whiskies blended with pure Canadian maple syrup derived from maple trees tapped in Quebec, Canada. Caramel colouring has also been added. This is a forward sample that's not yet available in Australia.

Tasting note: Very pale straw gold. Yields up moderate aromas of melted butter and maple syrup with subsequent sniffs offering fresh baked oatmeal biscuit, brown sugar and hints of vanilla. A creamy entry builds into a semi sweet, gently warming profile featuring maple syrup, whipped butter, pancake and ginger biscuit-like flavours. Fairly fleeting on the finish, likewise the aftertaste. The whisky is virtually non evident. It tastes like a liqueur and loses a point for lack of delivery you’d expect from the label. One for the sweet tooth. 40.5 Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... . This maple-syrup-flavored whisky is sure to please anyone with a sweet tooth. The base is a small-batch blend of 3- 5- and 7-year-old Canadian rye whiskies, lending backbone to the big maple and vanilla flavors, with a touch of peach and clove on the finish. Good for sipping over ice or mixing, as in Tap 357’s suggested cocktail, The Montreal––a riff on the Manhattan. 92 points - www.wineenthusiast.com
