Sullivans Cove Single Cask American Oak Barrel HH0257 Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

The latest releases from this distillery (established in 1994) mark a welcome departure from many previous expressions that were frequently sabotaged by hessian bag, burnt rubber and/or sulphur-like notes. All three bottlings (Double Wood, American Oak Single Cask and French Oak Single Cask) are clean, complex and come highly recommended. This bottling was matured for 11 years in an American Oak Bourbon barrel.

Tasting note: Bright pale gold colour. The nose is restrained at first. Opens momentarily sappy, followed by a big, soft cocoa-caramel-vanilla note that becomes more like choc-chip cookie with exposure. The palate possesses amazing softness and lightness at this ABV, with feather weight spices, hints of chewy cereals and lots of choc-chip cookie. Subtle juicy dried fruits on the finish. Concludes clean and dry with the cereal and dried fruit notes lingering with solid length. 47.5% Alc./Vol.
