Springbank Local Barley 16 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Campbeltown, SCOTLAND
$280. 00
Bottle
$3360.00 Dozen
ABV: 54.3%

A truly 100% Campbeltown malt if ever there was one! Springbank has produced "Local Barley" bottlings before, but new expressions have been a long time coming. The first in a series of five to be released over five years, taking a leaf out of Bruichladdich's belief that 'terroir' matters, Springbank have sourced 'Prisma' barley grown at Low Machrimore Farm in Southend, a few miles outside of Campbeltown. 9,000 bottles on offer world wide.

The distillery notes describe it as, "Sweet and rounded with a very subtle peat influence combining with butter tablet, soft fruit and mineral notes." Great reviews from whisky lovers on the web for this.

Tasting note: Floral and honeyed with threads of peat weaving a gorgeous tapestry of delicate lanolin through the pristine barley. Beautifully balanced. Genteel smoke, citrus oils, cocoa and pronounced barley sugars make for a succulent, ultra-pure and quite stunning Springbank. 54.3% Alc./Vol.
