2021 Yalumba Samuel’s Collection Barossa Bush Vine Grenache

Samuel’s Collection celebrates the founder of Yalumba, Samuel Smith and showcases the varieties and blends iconic to both the Barossa and Yalumba. This Grenache is sourced from a collection of gnarled old bush vine vineyards planted between 1920 – 1976, each individual parcel of fruit imparting its own individuality and complexity onto the final blend. Maturation took place in older French puncheons and hogsheads for a period of 10 months.

A bomb of flavour that explodes across the moreish palate with seductive force.

Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Alluring red to dark raspberry, cherry and red liquorice aromas drift from the glass with ample potency, some confectionary and spicy dried herb notes are also evident. Rich and succulent the palate boasts an explosive flavour profile of dark raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice fruits. Notions of vanillin confectionary, subtle earth and spicy pepper characters chime in on the back half. Supplely textured with silky smooth tannins it has terrific intensity and power finishing long, juicy and uber delicious.
