The creators of Wyborowa Single Estate not only grow the rye, but craft and distill the product all on one single estate, located in the village of Turew (taur-EV’), Poland. The special two-step distillation process, which includes a skillful initial distillation in the estate’s small copper columns and an additional triple-distillation in the Wyborowa rectification plant, is employed to create the purest vodka possible. Throughout the process, the single estate team uses the same traditional methods that have been employed for nearly 500 years to assure that Wyborowa Single Estate is one of the most exquisite vodkas in the world.

To showcase this artisanal vodka, Frank Gehry -- the master responsible for Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the new Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles -- created the striking bottle. Jeff Agdern, brand director for Wyborowa Single Estate, said, “Frank Gehry, one of America’s greatest living architects, was the only person we considered to design the bottle.” He added, “Based on his impressive work, we knew that he could craft a bottle that truly reflected the extraordinary vodka inside.” The bottle, an amalgam of dramatic, strong lines and sleek curves, perfectly captures the genuine character of Wyborowa Single Estate.

Tasting Note: Clear. Neutral cream, stone fruit, and cereal aromas. A very soft and supple entry leads to a smooth, oily medium-to full-bodied palate with very neutral, creamy vanilla, and powdered sugar flavors. Finishes with a delicious, powdered sugar and spice fade. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews… Produced from 100% rye that’s cultivated on one estate. Delightful spicy, tar and asphalt-like, mineral-like aroma; air contact stimulates more buttery scents including almond paste and traditional rye bread. Palate entry is clean, spicy, stone-like and off-dry; at midpalate the intensely spicy-peppery quality of the rye is highlighted. Ends in a flurry of minerals, black pepper and off-dry cereal.
