Absolutely bursting with character, this youthful Caol Ila was drawn from a single hogshead at cask strength. In league with some of the most confronting attacks of any we can recall, Whisky Craft have captured a gargantuan coastal malt with a tsunami of phenols in the form of lanolin, sheep-skin jackets and iodine, awash with bourbon oak, baked citrus, oily peat and a vanilla undercurrent. Even with water, the mouthfeel remains vibrant and tenacious, though more ashy, peppery, then seductive and long. Hang on to your hats, it's brute force from this distillery at its elemental best! Cask #303484 yielded 152 bottles. 58.2% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Punches well above its age statement. Just Islay as it should be, pure, smoky and alive. Nose: Bold coastal smoke meets sweet BBQ, with a touch of smoked ham. Hints of herbs and summer warmth linger in the background. Palate: A vibrant mixture of cracked black pepper, strawberry jam, and lemon zest, with subtle notes of pear pie and herbal peat. Finish: Long, juicy, and sweet with lingering smoke, clotted cream, and a citrusy touch of lemon sherbet.
