Waubs Harbour Salt Marsh Limited Edition Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)
The first of its kind for Waubs Harbour - peated whisky for non-peated drinkers, made by lightly smoking Tasmanian barley with local salt marsh peat, dug by hand. The initial taste anticipates a more citrusy and spritely addition to the range, up until the finish where a superb, tempered sweetness melts in your mouth like salted caramel chocolate. Peat remains indiscernible, at least from a 10 ml sample. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, 556 bottles make up the entire release. 49.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Notes from the producers... Nose: Honeycomb, vanilla & mineral notes. Palate: Caramel sauce with a sweet, nutty, subtle brown sugared peat influence. Finish: Nutty, earthy, herbaceous, subtle brown sugared peat influence balanced with honeycomb & candy floss.
