The first of its kind for Waubs Harbour - peated whisky for non-peated drinkers, made by lightly smoking Tasmanian barley with local salt marsh peat, dug by hand. Apparently the peat is very subtle. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks by the ocean at Waubs Harbour in Bicheno, far east coast Tasmania, 556 bottles make up the entire release. 49.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Notes from the producers... Nose: Honeycomb, vanilla & mineral notes. Palate: Caramel sauce with a sweet, nutty, subtle brown sugared peat influence. Finish: Nutty, earthy, herbaceous, subtle brown sugared peat influence balanced with honeycomb & candy floss.
