While many Amarettos derive their nutty marzipan-like flavour solely from apricot kernels or peach stones, Vedrenne's expression is obtained from the Prunus Amydgalus almond tree. A staple in the kitchen, adding depth and warmth to a variety of baked goods and desserts, it is famously used to soak ladyfingers in tiramisu and is an excellent addition to biscotti, fruitcakes, and chocolate glazes.
