Vasse Felix Extra Brut Pinot Noir Chardonnay

Delicate apricot pink mousse, short lived. Moderate persistence of bead. Apricot pink colour. The nose has a subtle strawberry character followed by nuances of yeast lees and biscuit. Creamy palate with subtle strawberry citrus flavours emerging. Slightly coarse on the back palate. Citrus strawberry aftertaste.

Bright tache (showing a splash of pink/orange). The mousse is impressive, but falls away relatively quickly and is followed by fine persistent bead. The nose displays subtle yeast autolysis character over notes of winter strawberry and biscuit. On the palate the Pinot Noir component is to the fore, yet the Chardonnay makes the dominant contribution with its crisp acid backbone. Very dry finish – a touch austere. Very long toast and yeast aftertaste.
