The Macallan Rare Cask Red Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - 2023 release

Macallan are one of the few high-profile distilleries to offer premium NAS bottlings with prices to match. Rare Cask Red is said to reach for something of the older Macallan style with whiskies reportedly drawn from 14 different casks. Whether or not it succeeds is a subject of debate amongst tasters. Some have summed it up as "turbo charged Macallan! Rich, oily and raisined", others found it a solid sherry matured expression but not quite attaining the heights of a classic.
