The Bitter Truth Bittermen's Xocolatl Mole Bitters (200ml)

While living in San Francisco in early 2007, Avery and Janet Glasser used high proof spirit and a variety of herbs, peels and spices to create what would be their prototype recipe for the Xocolatl Mole Bitters and catalyst for their new venture. Inspired by the classic Mole sauces of Mexico, this bitter was originally designed to pair with aged tequila, but we have found that it works beautifully with aged Rum, Bourbon and Rye as well. We're big fans of putting a dash in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, and new classics like The Conference or the Latin Quarter just wouldn't be the same without them.

Note: Reputedly, this is equivalent to Bittermens Xocolatl Mole bitters, only produced by 'The Bitter Truth' under a licensing agreement that ended in July, 2010. The Bitter Truth products were modified to meet available European ingredients and are no longer being produced. So when they’re gone, they’re gone! This is a 200ml bottle, larger than the current Bittermen's 118ml, but bottled at a slightly lower ABV and priced accordingly.
