That Boutique-y Whisky Company Records Series Dailuaine 6 Year Old Batch 6 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (500ml)

Distilled in June 2015, six years in a sherry hogshead before being bottled up at high ABV should make for a delicious if somewhat spicy young Dailuaine. It's a rarely seen distillate with just 2% of production going to single malts. As part of a newly designed series that looks like old soul 7" records, the label has several clever references to Dailuaine's sulphury character, the result of stainless steel tubes in their condensers intended to reduce reflux. The label also celebrates renowned architect Charles Chree Doig, and incorporates Christopher Wren’s epitaph - which is so fitting to Charles Doig. And then there’s a fabulous quote from Alfred Barnard about the beautiful location of the Dailuaine distillery, and finally, a Badger reflects the animal motif used on Diageo’s Flora and Fauna label. Batch 6 is a release of 374 bottles. 57.9% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the bottlers... An oily mouthfeel. Rosy red apples, caramelised brown sugar, vanilla custard, and warming spices that linger long into the finish. Wonderful!
