That Boutique-y Whisky Company Cambus 25 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky (500ml) - Batch 14

From the closed Cambus Distillery comes this independently bottled Boutique-y gem. After a quarter of a century of patient maturation, the whisky was decanted at 50.1% ABV - which we assume is cask strength, however it's not stated on the label. Batch 14 is a release of 462 bottles. Founded back in the early 1800s, Cambus produced whisky until 1913 when a fire halted production and forced the distillery to close until 1938. The doors of Cambus were open once again until 1993, when they shut for their final time. If you’re into your grains, you'll be able to pick out all the subtle historical references found on the label. The laymen will see a snowy scene with a snow family and cheerful little robins dotting the picture, plus lots of barrels! Collectable.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Vanilla sponge, jam tarts, and red chilli flake. Palate: Cooked apple, brown sugar, maple syrup, a good touch of oily oak. Finish: Baking spice, vanilla blossom, and more orchard fruit.
