Founded in 1823, Tengumai Shuzo is located facing the Japan Sea in the Ishikawa prefecture of central Japan. They produce traditional Yamahai sake using Gohyakumangoku rice.

Tasting Note: Medium lemon colour. Quite earthy on the nose, showing mushrooms, nougat, and bread dough, along with some white floral notes and herbaceous hints of capsicum. The palate continues the earthy and savoury theme, with light mushroom and rice bran, mixed with some unripe melon on the finish. All in all very subdued, but does have good weight and texture, a food friendly style. Serve room temperature or warm.
