"...a definite anejo for the blanco lover." - drinkhacker.com

Described by many connoisseurs as one of the world's finest sipping tequilas, Tapatio's Anejo is aged around 18 months in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, six months over the minimum requirement. It pours a pale straw colour with a subtle green blush. Opening aromas are moderate, semi sweet and buttery followed by hints of wild honey and menthol. The palate is medium bodied with a delicate, juicy sweetness countered by a herbaceous, gently peppery finish. The wood has been kept in check. Concludes with a brief green chille fade. 38% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Aged for 18 months in used Jim Beam barrels, this straw-hued añejo has a lively, zingy peppery aroma. The palate is similarly light, with a floral hint and gentle vanilla fade braced up with drying black pepper heat. Overall, silky and complex. 93 points - wineenthusiast.com

The nose doesn’t give up much. Hints of both agave and creme brulee, but both are very light. A mysterious nosing leads to a moderate wallop on the body: Agave hits you first, then red and black pepper. The silky smooth caramel notes come on after that, washing down the heat. Nice balance — though the finish lacks much secondary character — a definite anejo for the blanco lover. - drinkhacker.com
