Sourced from undisclosed distilleries in California and Indiana, Redwood Empire's limited edition 95% rye has 4% malted barley in the mix as well as a dash of wheat. Aged in 53-gallon, char #3 barrels for a minimum of four years and up to 6 years on the Northern California coast, the result is a bold, decadent rye with the richness of American oak set against delicate peel freshness and wood spices; the flavours completely envelop the tongue with an impressive wave of orange oils, the character of the grain upping the texture while adding a finishing hint of peppermint. Easily approached at high strength, this gorgeous rye also offers enough sweetness for Bourbon lovers. Give it time in the glass to show its best. Non-chill filtered.

Sweeter notes, like Andes chocolates, vanilla frosting, and yellow cake soon join the mix, creating a lovely balance between honeyed and herb-driven notes. The palate takes that sweetness and spice even further—there’s delicious heat on the tip of the tongue, giving way to raspberry-filled chocolate squares, black forest cake, and ripe red fruit.
