Muscat a Petit Grains is one of 200 Muscat varieties, but is the only grape used to make the formidable Rutherglen Muscats. This 20 year old Muscat from Pertaringa would meet the strict guidelines to be labelled Rare had it been produced in Rutherglen, and would have a price tag to reflect its great age.

A Magnificent Fortified Wine.

This wine has been matured over many years by Geoff Hardy and Ian Leask. Deep sienna brown colour with olive green hue, clearly showing its age. Superb nose of rancio, followed by raisin and spice with toffee end notes. Warm spiritous end note. The palate delivers everything that the nose suggests – rancio flavours, toffee and caramel over a background of warm brandy spirit. Perfect balance. Very long aftertaste of rancio, honey and raisins. A superb drink.
