Morrison & MacKay Old Perth Sherry Cask Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
$79. 99 Bottle
The Old Perth brand is a tribute to the city of Perth in Scotland. The label disappeared in the 1970s only to be resurrected in 2013 by independent bottlers, Morrison & Mackay. This sherried variant allegedly includes malts from Glenfarclas, Blair Athol and Glentauchers, all matured in the three main sherry cask types: butts, puncheons and the smaller hogsheads. There's also a sister bottling in the range which is Peaty blended malt. Tasting note: Amber gold. Rather than classic sherry, the bouquet has a hot toddy-like character - otherwise it's a fairly straightforward blend; a little fruity, gingery, warming and medium bodied. Pleasant but short. Tastes very young. One for the hip flask. 43% Alc./Vol.
